AppointmentsThe Bailiff started the Meeting with the announcement that after a successful recruitment process, the current Attorney General, Mark Temple KC, has been appointed the new Deputy Bailiff. He will take up the role in the new year.
Deputy Beatriz Porée informed the States Assembly that she has resigned from the Children, Education and Home Affairs Scrutiny Panel.

Statement
The Minister for Education and Lifelong Learning, Deputy Rob Ward, delivered a statement to the Assembly regarding an independent review into children and young people with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND). The Minister then took 30 minutes of questions from Members.

P.3 Draft Harbours (Inshore Safety) (Jersey) Amendment Regulations 202-
The Minister for Sustainable Economic Development, Deputy Kirsten Morel, deferred this debate to the next States Meeting on Tuesday 11 November.
P.45/2025 Proposed use of former Jersey Gas site: request for reconsideration
The Connétable of St. Helier, Simon Crowcroft, proposed that the Education Minister Deputy Rob Ward, reconsider the proposal to build a new school on the site adjacent to Millennium Park, formerly used by Jersey Gas, and instead extend the park. The Connétable wants up-to-date information about the relative benefits and disbenefits of doubling the size of the Millennium Town Park, compared to the construction of a new primary school, to be investigated.

The States Assembly voted to REJECT the Connétable’s proposition with 10 votes for, 31 votes against and 0 abstentions.

Adjournment
