Privileges and Procedures Committee Agenda

The meeting is closed to the public under Standing Order 130(6) of the States of Jersey.

  1. To receive apologies for absence.
  2. To approve the Minutes of the meeting held on 1st and 22nd December 2025.
  3. At the request of Deputy M. Tadier of St. Brelade, to review the current arrangement whereby meetings of the States Assembly are held every 3 weeks.
  4. At the request of Deputy T.A. Coles of St. Helier South , to consider whether correspondence with PPC Sub-Committees should be published on the States Assembly website.
  5. To consider a report and proposition in connexion with the selection of elected Members to preside in the absence of the Bailiff / Deputy Bailiff .
  6. To consider miscellaneous amendments to Standing Orders in connexion with the  reinstatement  of  the  position  of Senators  and  a  roll  over  during  oral questions without notice (as previously agreed).
  7. To consider a report from the Deputy Greffier of the States in connexion with the policy on filming and photography in the States Chamber.
  8. To consider draft amendments to Standing Orders in respect of personal statements.
  1. To receive an update from the Head of Digital and Public Engagement in connexion with the cost of improving the search functionality associated with Hansard and transcripts of Scrutiny Hearings.
  2. To receive a report from the Head of Digital and Public Engagement in connexion with the organisation of Members' contact details on the States Assembly website to ensure a targeted approach to the management of correspondence.
  3. To note that no comments have been received from the Diversity Forum Sub- Committee and the Political Awareness and Education Sub-Committees on the draft Role Profiles document, prepared by the Machinery of the Government Sub-Committee.
  4. To consider a report from the Deputy Greffier of the States in connexion with remote participation.
  5. To consider a comment on the draft Treaties (Jersey) Law 202-.
  6. To consider a proposition in connexion with the Bailiff 's Consultative Panel.
  7. To consider a report from the Legislative Drafting Office in connexion with the Computer-Readable Legislation Project.
  8. To approve the States Greffe Business Plan for 2026 for presentation to the States.
  9. To consider the proposed appointment of Deputy M.R. Ferey of St. Saviour to the Machinery of Government PPC Sub-Committee, following the resignation of Deputy M.R. Scott of St. Brelade .
  10. To consider forthcoming business for debate by the States Assembly and to decide whether the Committee wishes to comment on, or lodge an amendment to, any of the Propositions.
  11. To note the PPC Actions List for 2024 – 2025.
  12. To note that the next scheduled meeting will be held on Monday 9th February 2026, from 09.15am - 12.15 pm, in the Blampied Room.
