MEETINGS OF THE STATES IN 2026 AND 2027

REPORT

At the first meeting of the newly constituted Privileges and Procedures Committee (PPC) on 15th July 2025, the Committee reviewed the dates which had been set and published for next year's States meetings. The Committee was concerned about having the final 2 meetings before the pre-election period in March 2026 with no gap between them and agreed to alter them so that the final meeting to include a question period will be the meeting held on 24th March, with the 30th March 2026 meeting dates being retained as continuation days, if required, to allow as much of the outstanding public business to be completed as possible.

PPC has also now included dates for the first half of 2027, where school holiday dates are known, in order to assist Members as much as possible with forward planning.
