REPORT

On 21st October 2025, the Minister for External Relations made a Ministerial Decision delegating certain of his functions under Articles 28, 30 and 30A of the States of Jersey Law 2005 (see Decision reference MD-ER-2025-736, available at www.gov.je).

The terms of the delegations, and the legislation under which those delegations were made, were recorded in a Report attached to the Ministerial Decision, as shown below –

Intellectual Property (Unregistered Rights) (Jersey) Law 2011

Patents (Jersey) Law 1957

Registered Designs (Jersey) Law 1957

Trade Marks (Jersey) Law 2000

Scope of delegation:

Full delegation in line with the requirements of the above legislation.  This includes the authority to sign ministerial decisions in respect of these areas.

Full delegation to lodge new intellectual property legislation and any amendments to the above existing legislation and to present reports to the States Assembly relating to any matters of Intellectual Property.
