Comments

The Finance and Economics Committee is of the opinion that given the importance of the Harbours to the Island, and as the proposal brought forward by the Harbours and Airport Committee will effectively be transferring that asset outside of the direct control of the States, it is vital that the States members are convinced that the proposal is in the best interest of the Island.

It is proposed that until such time as the Policy and Resources, Finance and Economics Committees and the Jersey Competition Regulatory Authority are provided with additional resources or existing projects are reprioritised, the Finance and Economics Committee is unable to support the proposal that Jersey Harbours should be a Trust Port.
