COMMENTS

The Committee is of the view that Deputy Le Hérissier's proposed amendment will result in further delay to the improvement of the Island's bus service.

The Committee recognises and accepts that changes are required. Its own proposition states that reviewing the bus service and the bus fare structure are priorities.

Work is already ongoing to progress these measures and the Committee will be extremely disappointed if proposals for significant changes and improvements to the routes and schedules are not brought forward for consultation and implementation within the next six months.

Accordingly, the Committee asks the States to reject the amendment.
