The Comptroller and Auditor General is currently conducting a Review of Financial Management and Control in the Education, Sport and Culture Department. It is probable that this will be the subject of a Public Hearing by the Public Accounts Committee.
The Public Accounts Committee considers that it is important for this report to be completed before there is any debate on further funding. It would be more appropriate for this amendment to be withdrawn until the review has been completed and then, if necessary, brought back to the Assembly as a separate proposition.
