COMMENTS

The Privileges and Procedures Committee is of the view that the matters raised in this proposition should be considered as part of a comprehensive review of the machinery of government.

The Committee has decided to meet with the Chief Minister to discuss such a review and considers that debating Deputy T.M. Pitman of St. Helier 's proposition at this stage would be premature.

It is in the interests of the States to defer any decision in respect of this matter until full consideration has been given to the ballot process as part of a broader review.
