Les Quennevais Parade and Precinct P.67/2025
THE STATES commenced consideration of a proposition of Deputy Helen Mary Miles of St. Brelade entitled Les Quennevais Parade and Precinct' (P.67/2025) and, adopting an amendment of the Council of Ministers (P.67/2025 Amd.), agreed that, in paragraph (b), after the words "to include", the words "a detailed scheme of regeneration for" should be deleted; in paragraph (c), after the words "should be considered", the words "as a standing item" should be deleted and, after the words "to request the Chief Minister to update", the word "standing" should be deleted.
THE STATES, adopting the proposition of Deputy Helen Mary Miles of St. Brelade , as amended, agreed –
- to extend the Future-Fit Retail Roadmap to specifically include the regeneration of Les Quennevais as the Island's second retail hub and requested the Minister for Sustainable Economic Development to undertake the necessary steps to give effect to this decision by 31st December 2025;
- to extend the scope of the West of Island Planning Framework and area masterplans, as approved within the Bridging Island Plan, to include Les Quennevais Parade and Precinct and requested the Minister for the Environment to undertake the necessary steps to give effect to this decision by the end of March 2026; and
- that the regeneration of Les Quennevais Parade and Precinct would be considered at meetings of the Regeneration Steering Group, with consideration to be given to options which would enhance this area for the benefit of the public and its residents, including but not limited to the potential acquisition and redevelopment by the States of Jersey Development Company of all the commercial units and requested the Chief Minister to update the agenda for meetings accordingly with immediate effect.
