PROPOSITION

THE STATES are asked to decide whether they are of opinion

to request the Chief Ministers and all other Ministers to notify the Assembly of  any  appointment  or  dismissal  of  an  Assistant  Minister  by  a  Minister through  a  Statement  on  a  Matter  of  Official  Responsibility  made  in  the Assembly by the Minister concerned at the earliest possible opportunity.

REPORT

The recent events concerning appointments of Assistant Ministerial posts have caused concern that the States has been cut out of the loop, so to speak. This proposal shall at least give members a chance to question Ministers about their selections and de- selections.

Financial and manpower implications

There are no financial or manpower implications arising from this proposition.
