Further to Oral Question 118/2025, will the Minister for Infrastructure provide an update on what engagement, if any, has taken place with the incumbent operator, as well as any alternative operators, regarding the future of the Island's fuel supply?

I thank the Deputy for his question. I can confirm that officers are currently in the process of agreeing a new heads of terms with the current operator, which will ensure stability and resilience in the island's fuel supply.
3.9.1 Deputy P.F.C. Ozouf :
Over the summer period I had 3 meetings scheduled with the Minister for Infrastructure and Chief Minister, but 2 of them were cancelled with the promise of another. This has been the subject of a number of oral questions, and I wonder whether the Minister is prepared at any point to engage with a Member and the panel who have advanced concerns about a continuation of an existing lease. In answering, maybe he would explain the tenure and length of that proposed new lease, which will be subject to a Standing Order challenge no doubt.
The Connétable of St. John :
The Deputy is absolutely right that any lease would be subject to a 168 where any Member can challenge. The lease is for a shorter period than the original lease and will include break clauses. In terms of meetings, I am not sure which meetings were cancelled and by whom, but I am back on the Island and available.
