Review Report: Comments - Draft Water Law (Jersey) Regulations 202- 24 March 2026

About

The Draft Water Law (Jersey) Amendment Regulations 202- (P.26/2026) introduce a new statutory limit of 4 ng/l for the sum of four PFAS chemicals in drinking water, to be achieved within five years. It aims to “future‑proof” Jersey’s water quality in response to the scientific recommendations made by the PFAS Scientific Advisory Panel and the widespread environmental presence of PFAS, including historic contamination sources such as firefighting foam use at Jersey Airport.

The Panel presented its comments to the States Assembly on 24th March 2026.
