REPORT

Introduction

On 29 October 2026 the Jersey Employment Forum published its report on the level of the minimum wage and offset rates to be set from 1 April 2027.

The Forum recommended that:

• the main minimum wage should be increased by 2.8% to £13.97 an hour from that date

• that the Year 1 and Year 2 trainee minimum wage rates of £10.50 an hour and £11.75 an hour respectively, should remain at those levels

• that the offset rates for accommodation or accommodation and meals (the maximum amount an employer is by law able to deduct from the wages of a minimum wage employee) should be increased by 2.8% to £156.87 each week and £209.02 each week respectively. The offset rates in respect of trainee minimum wage earners should remain at the present levels

Conclusion

The Minister for Social Security has decided to accept the recommendations of the Employment Forum and will request law drafting to implement the new rates from 1 April 2027.
