The Committee considered a report from a States of Jersey Complaints Board Jersey in connexion with a complaint against the Minister for the Environment regarding a Complaints decision of the Environment Department not to issue an abatement notice in Board: accordance with the Statutory Nuisances (Jersey) Law 1999.

vs. the The Committee noted that the complaint centred around the handling of a statutory Minister for nuisance, described as a resonance phenomenon with amplification'. The Board had the upheld the complaint under Articles 9(a), (d) and (e) of the Administrative Decisions Environment (Review) (Jersey) Law 1982 and a number of recommendations had been made.
The Board noted that the Minister and the Department had taken the unusual decision not to attend the Hearing but had provided a written response to the complaint.
The Committee approved the report and requested that the necessary arrangements be made for it to be presented to the States with a brief covering report.
