P.35/2025 – A1. The Committee, with reference to its Minute No. A1 of 4th June 2025, draft Code of considered correspondence between Deputy M.R. Scott of St. Brelade and the Conduct for Greffier of the States in connexion with P.35/2025 – Amendment to Standing Orders Elected - revised Code of Conduct.

The Committee noted that Deputy Scott had made a number of suggestions with regard to the revised Code and intended to lodge an amendment.
The Committee agreed that it would wish to consider Deputy Scott 's suggested amendments in detail, together with any other suggestions from Members, at a future meeting. It was recalled that some Members had attending briefings on the revised Code with the Commissioner for Standards prior to the summer recess and various comments on the revised Code had been made.
In light of the above, the Committee agreed to withdraw the proposition, which was scheduled for debate on 9th September 2025, and noted that Deputy Scott 's suggested amendments would be included on the agenda for the meeting on 8th September 2025. It was noted that Deputy Scott had indicated a desire to address the Committee on her proposed amendments and it was agreed that she should be invited to attend the meeting scheduled for 6th October 2025, by which time the Committee would have had an opportunity to consider her amendments.
The Greffier of the States was requested to take the necessary action.
