Deputy K.C. Lewis Minister for Infrastructure BY EMAIL
16th August 2019 Dear Minister
Electric Bike Grant Scheme 2019
We are writing in relation to the new electric bike grant scheme which has been implemented on 12th August 2019 under a Ministerial Decision (MD-T-2019-0042) signed on 9th August 2019.
We understand that £50,000 of public funds has been transferred from the Growth, Housing and Environment Sustainable Transport Budget in order to fund the scheme and we would be grateful if you could forward the following information onto the Panel:
- Evidence of traffic reduction / cycle number increases resulting from the last scheme and which stimulated the reintroduction of the new 2019 scheme with a 50% reduced grant contribution.
- Evidence of the previous schemes use by a broad cross-section of islanders from differing income backgrounds.
- Evidence that bikes bought on the previous scheme are still in use.
We would be grateful if you could provide a response as soon as possible and within 5 working days from the date of this letter.
Yours sincerely

Connétable M. K. Jackson
Chairman
