5th July 2021
Dear Chief Minister
Ongoing COVID-19 queries
Following the Safer Travel Guidelines Review Panel's letter of 1st July 2021 there have been a number of further developments in the Government of Jersey's policies regarding COVID-19. The Panel notes that although minutes of the Scientific and Technical Advisory Cell (STAC) are not available past the 29th March 2021, these policies have now been implemented and as such it would be beneficial if related information be released into the public domain to aid in transparency. Specifically, what consideration, discussion and advice was given by both STAC and Government officers in relation to the subsequent decisions to:
• remove the isolation requirement for direct contacts from 4th July 2021?
• reduce in isolation for children identified as direct contacts as of 29th June?
• update the Safer Travel Policy as announced on 2nd July 2021?
This is a rapidly evolving situation and the timely release of information which explains decision- making is imperative to public confidence. The Panel would be grateful if you could please respond by Wednesday 7th July 2021 and, as ever, remains willing to receive briefings confidentially prior to the implementation of related policies.
Yours sincerely,

Deputy Robert Ward
Chair, Safer Travel Guidelines Review Panel
