Subject: Proposed development of Finance Centre on the Esplanade
In my opinion it is wholly inappropriate for the States of Jersey to risk public funds to embark upon a programme of speculative commercial development. This is especially so at a time when the States have yet to bring our finances back into the black.
Office development should be left to the private sector , as evidenced by the huge development next to the Grand Hotel and the large development proposed for Broad Street into Commercial Street.
