Submission 31 - Roberto

Here are my views and experience of the local retail industry:

Really polite and helpful shop floor staff for the most part

Most retail staff could do with knowing more than I do about their products

Some prices on clothes are good, could be better

Quality of clothing products could improve

EVERY shop could do with using rubber grips on their hangers, because the only thing that stops me buying T-shirts these days is that a lot of the time the necks are stretched out beyond repair.

And finally, I'm afraid that no highstreet shop in the world could possibly sell EVERYTHING i need, hence why I shop online. I'm afraid raising GST on online goods will not encourage me to shop locally because nobody sells what i need.

I don't think raising GST on online purchases makes any sense at all and certainly won't help local retailers in the slightest.

I've worked in retail for over 20 years. Hope this helps!
