The use of cash is and should always be taken as legal tender in my opinion. We should always be given the choice. We should never rely on only one source on anything but should always have a back-up source. As an example, just take into account the recent "outage" failure which led to some supermarkets telling customers they could only accept cash and the difficulty and stress it caused in other areas of the community.
