THE STATES assembled on Thursday, 10th January, 1985 at 10.15 a.m. under the Presidency of the Bailiff , Sir Frank Ereaut.

His Excellency The Lieutenant Governor, Admiral Sir William Pillar, G.B.E., K.C.B., was present.

Senator Jane Patricia Sandeman – out of the Island.

David John de la Haye, Deputy of St. Ouen – out of the Island. William George Mahoney, Deputy of St. Helier – out of the Island.

Welcome to H.E. The Lieutenant Governor.

The Bailiff introduced Admiral Sir William Pillar, G.B.E., K.C.B., the newly appointed Lieutenant Governor of Jersey, to the Assembly.

Senator Ralph Vibert then welcomed His Excellency and Lady Pillar on behalf of  all  the  members  of  the  States,  whereupon  Sir  William  Pillar  replied, indicating that he hoped to take an active interest in Island life.

THE STATES then adjourned.
