Question

Would the Minister update members regarding the recent £100 note, namely:

  1. how many were printed,
  2. how many expression of interest were received,
  3. how many have been issued (sold) to date?

Answer

  1. 100,000 £100 notes were produced. This was the minimum print run which could be ordered.
  2. Approximately 3,700 expressions of interest were received from collectors before the week of the launch.
  3. 5,440 notes have been issued (sold) to date i.e. notes with a face value totalling £544,000.
