Dear Sir
I believe the cost of policing an event should be paid for by the end user i.e. the people actually attending the event. After all, it is those very people who are being afforded the protection and services of the officers on duty.
This should apply to all events, traditional, heritage or charitable as not everyone wishes to attend these events and should therefore not be expected to indirectly pay for security provided to others through taxation.
Yours faithfully Antony Dugler
