COMMENTS
The Council of Ministers are pleased to accept this amendment from Deputy Coles and thank the Deputy for agreeing that the 2026-2029 Budget can be proposed as amended on this basis.
The Minister for Housing and Minister for Treasury and Resources are committed to ensuring that all Islanders who wish to downsize feel able and supported to do so, and welcome this amendment from the Deputy as an opportunity to build on the work published in the 2024 Right-sizing report.
Officials for both Ministers will work closely together to ensure that any change to stamp duty proposed is proportionate and appropriate both for individuals who are right- sizing and the Island as a whole.
