2026-2029 seeks to ensure that adequate funding is available to the Office of the | |||
Children's Commissioner to fulfil the requirements of the Commissioner fo | |||
Children and Young People (Jersey) Law 2019 (hereafter "the Law") | |||

The Amendment will Reinstate funds for the Children's Commissioner to ensure tha | |||
the Children's Commissioner can fulfil its requirements under the Law, principally | |||
| to include "promoting and protecting the rights of all children and young people in |
| |
Jersey". | |||

Groups of children could include early years, primary or secondary education; | |||
young adults; children with additional learning needs; disabled children; | |||

The Children's Commissioner has a wide-ranging remit to promote and protect the | |||
| rights of all children and young people in Jersey. Therefore, it can be considered |

likely that all groups of children and young people in Jersey will be affected. | |||

Whilst a full CRIA is not required in relation to a Scrutiny Panel Amendment, a preliminary review of the impacts of the Panel's Amendment on children and young people has been undertaken, and this has found to have no negative impacts. | |||
